QUT BANDS Speed Networking Event 15 October

  • Our good friends at QUT BANDS are holding a speed networking event open to all students on Thursday 15 October, covering careers in data science. 
  • ACS Queensland will also be attending and presenting at this event, providing information on available data science careers and how ACS membership can support your career journey in data science.

At QUT BANDS (Business Analysis and Data Science) we help data science and business analysis enthusiasts to get together and connect with the industry. As part of this, we have our flagship event 'Speed Networking.’

In this event, the students are made to sit in front of one of the industry professionals. We try to conduct speed dating style interviews. A student is given 5 minutes to impress the hiring team, after which they may continue their communication further if successful. Students are given the opportunity to interact with each and every organisation. We have conducted this event thrice till now and have gotten quite a good response from participants and industry people alike.

We will be gathering information from the industries about the specialisations they are looking for and will keep them posted on our social media channels a week before the event. Students can send their resumes to us before so we can forward it to the participating organisations to showcase the skillset of our students. 

Are you looking for paid work experience in Data Science, Business Analysis, software engineering, Data Analytics, Web Development and Design, Project Management, User Experience, Enterprise Systems and many other diverse IT and Business process management related areas? You have come to the right place where you can meet all the organisations in a single event. 

Come to the “Speed Networking Session” organized by the QUT BANDS student society at QUT. Meet innovative companies in data science, data analytics and business analysis, who are seeking for talented and motivated students to join their vibrant teams on a full-time, part-time and casual basis.

Available roles include Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Business Consultants, Software Engineers, UX/UI Designers, Full Stack developers and many more other roles!

You will get to network and get interviewed by these potential employers in a speed dating format over a period of 90 minutes spanning over 12 rounds. We are expecting 15 plus organisations to join us for this exciting event. Do not miss out on this opportunity to get that ideal job that you can engage in while studying or after graduation.

Generally, the event is only for QUT students, but looking at the current circumstances of COVID, we would like to give this opportunity to all students who are looking for opportunities and want to enter their feet into the market.
