Are you interested in mentoring technology students to solve real world healthcare problems? We’re looking for IT professionals (designers/developers) to give feedback to Year 11 Digital Solutions students from Kelvin Grove State College.

Students will participate in a health hackathon, picking a problem that interests them and brainstorming ideas.

They will then work on designing and developing a solution over the course of the unit.

At one point during the unit they will get formal feedback on their idea from you (done through teachers – students will not be given your email).

There are also two events that we are calling out for volunteers for:

Entry event – Health Hackathon

Thursday 13 May

9:00am - 12:00pm (Morning Tea provided)

At this event we are seeking volunteer mentors to help with discussing possible ideas and solutions with students.

Showcase event – seeing the end products, celebrating student achievement

Tuesday 24 August

12:00pm – 1:10pm (Lunch provided)

and/or

1:50pm – 3:00pm

At this event we are seeking volunteer judges to watch student pitches, give feedback and award prizes.

Both events will be held at Kelvin Grove State College.
