The ACS ICT Gateway to Industry Schools project (GISP) is partnering with QSITE (Queensland Society for Information Technology in Education) to deliver a unique mix of presenters and training providers for the upcoming ‘Gateways to the Future’ conference at Kelvin Grove State College (19 and 20 September 2022).

ACS Emerging Professionals Kimberley Valenny (Front End Developer at Deloitte Digital) and Jackson Miller (CEO vybe) will be talking to the audience of ICT teachers, careers advisors and Heads of IT Faculties about their recent transitions from secondary schooling to tertiary study and into careers in the tech sector and entrepreneurship.

Joining the Emerging Professionals will be ICT GISP industry partner representatives Gary McHugh (Executive Director for Queensland, CyberCX), Rene Plamenac (Innovation Lead at BDO) and Bron McLain (Director, Capability at Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group). ACS Foundation BiG Day In presenter Alison Collins (Game Designer, Halfbrick) rounds out the ICT GISP connections giving up their time to give the audience their thoughts on how schools can better prepare the tech workers of the future (think Olympic Games 2032).

Other partners of the ICT GISP running workshops for teachers to increase their skillset to pass onto students include MicroMelon Robotics, Damien Kee Robotics and Pablo Farias of Zenva Academy and Zenva Schools. Zenva Academy is an ACS PPP and is also a major sponsor of the event.
