Brisbane Seniors Online – Call for ACS Volunteer Tutors

Brisbane Seniors Online is a not-for-profit community organisation based at Woolloongabba that helps over 50s with computers and the internet in the Greater Brisbane Area. Recently Mat Eames, Qld Branch Executive Member presented on behalf of ACS to BSOL.
BSOL is calling for retired or semi- retired volunteers in the Greater Brisbane area to help with home lessons.

Brisbane Seniors Online is a not-for-profit community organisation based at Woolloongabba that helps over 50s with computers and the internet in the Greater Brisbane Area.

Lessons are undertaken in the learner’s own home on their own device at their own pace. Windows, Android, Apple and smart phones are taught.

We are looking for retired and semi-retired volunteers who are available to assist with home tutoring and live in the Greater Brisbane area.

Learners are offered as a guide up to around 12 hours of home lessons over a twelve-month period then support as needed after that.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mathew Eames, CIO of Protech, Chair of the ACS Queensland Gold Coast Chapter, and ACS QLD BEC Member, for delivering a fantastic session on the Future of Computing at BSOLutions 2023. This special event, dedicated to upskilling and training the incredible volunteer mentors at BSOL - Brisbane Seniors OnLine, was a resounding success.

The day was truly comprehensive, featuring 12 esteemed speakers who presented talks on 11 engaging topics. Mat travelled from the Gold Coast for this event, sharing his expertise and insights with BSOL's dedicated mentors, enabling them to fulfill their mentoring roles more effectively.

We are proud to support BSOL - Brisbane Seniors OnLine. Their dedication to advancing digital literacy and empowering seniors in our community is truly commendable.
