MSA Longitudinal Study roadshow - QLD Launch Event-1a

You are warmly invited to the launch of the first ACS Skilled Journeys: Navigating IT Migration in Australia report to be held at James Cook University’s Cairns City Campus on the evening of Wednesday, 6 March.

The report explores the migration and employment outcomes from of technology sector workers who arrived in Australia from 2017 onwards and is the first in a new longitudinal tracking program focused on ICT skilled migration outcomes.  The report also examines the challenges faced by ICT-skilled migrants in the Australian technology sector along with the trends, themes and challenges for recently arrived skilled migrants.

Australia’s tech sector is booming but is hampered by critical skills shortages. Yet there is a skilled, motivated, hardworking pool of untapped potential right here in Australia – tech talent from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Join us for an engaging evening as we hear from ACS Chief Growth Officer Siobhan O’Sullivan and Chief Digital Officer, James Cook University and Chair, ACS QLD Cairns Chapter Geoff Purcell. Felipe Duncan (Associate Director, Digital Applications & Software Engineering) JCU, and Anusha Hewage (Head of Software Engineering and Platforms) JCU will also join our panel Q&A.

We would be delighted if you could attend this complimentary event, alongside newly-arrived professionals and colleagues from the tech, community and recruitment sectors. Light refreshments will be served and it will be a great opportunity for networking for the local tech, education and business communities. We sincerely thank JCU for providing our venue and panellists for the evening.
