The award recognises one talented individual annually from the Queensland ICT technology landscape, an outstanding ICT entrepreneur who has 'taken a risk', 'make a difference' and 'is an inspiration'.

Nominees could be working in any industry sector using cutting-edge, innovative technologies and be making a significant positive impact on the digital transformation of industry sectors such as health, agriculture, mining, emergency services, higher education and so on.

Winning the award has the potential to open the door to new markets, grow your network and highlights the important contribution you have made to the Queensland ICT industry.

Nominations are encouraged from all regional, rural and remote regions, as well as South-East Queensland, interstate and even overseas, as long as the candidate has made a major contribution to the Queensland ICT Industry.

NOMINATING IS EASY

1.     Visit the Pearcey Foundation website for selection criteria details and frequently asked questions. There is a lot of information in the frequently asked questions to help you decide if someone would be a worthwhile nominee.

2.      Complete the details requested in the state nomination form and submit by close of business Tuesday 27 August 2024.

SELECTION CRITERIA

1.        Risk - someone who has gone out on a limb to bring a significant new business and/or technology to the market. Usually this is a founder with vision, passion and determination who has driven a venture through to fruition.

2.         Difference - someone who has achieved significant commercial success with positive impact on the ICT industry. Often these achievements are recognised on the world stage in their chosen industry/sector.

3.          Inspiration - someone who is a role model for young people and is a leader in the Australian ICT industry. Typically, they will have many other interests, such as mentoring, a high profile in the community, and be a vocal advocate for change.

ABOUT THE PEARCEY FOUNDATION

The Pearcey Foundation aims to make Australians proudly aware of the achievements of Australia's ICT industries and of the work of the many Australians, young and old, who have made those achievements possible.

Appropriately, the foundation is named after Dr Trevor Pearcey, who led the project team that built CSIRAC 1947 to 1949. It is now the oldest surviving computer in the world and on display in the Melbourne Museum. A foundation has been established in his name which makes awards to outstanding individuals in our industry.
