The day started with our brilliant ACS Queensland Cairns Regional Chapter joined by ACS Qld Branch Executive Vice-Chair Sarah-Jane Peterschlingmann discussing local business and the tech community’s needs, and planning for our next local event. Keep an eye out for details in the coming months. Thank you Cairns Chapter Co-Chairs Geoff Purcell & Melvyn Pensee-Arnold, MBA, and Dr Kranthi Addanki, Ross Contarino, Sachh Moka, Demelza Werly. It’s an honour to work with a talented bunch of IT leaders, professionals, and students.

Following the Cairns Chapter planning meeting, the local Cairns Tech Community enjoyed a  great night of networking and learning at the ACS Queensland Cairns Regional Roadshow – Harnessing the Power of Microsoft 365 event with our valued partner Pack of 7 Australia. Ryan Wilson, Co-Director & Lead Solution Architect, Pack of 7 Australia enlightened members on how organisations can make the most of Microsoft 365, and Eleanor Crosby, Industry Workforce Advisor, ACS shared her insights into workforce planning. And to cap off a successful couple of days, the evening ended with congratulating and awarding the gifted Dannielle Jones the ACS Qld Student Award for the highest course GPA of a graduating student in the Bachelor of IT (2023) at James Cook University. Dannielle consistently demonstrated exceptional academic performance and a remarkable dedication to her study in Bachelor of IT in 2023.
