ACS hosts Her Tech Circle’s first event in Brisbane
Highlights
- Last week ACS was so excited to host Her Tech Circle for their very first Brisbane Networking event: Powerskills Panel: Elevate your Tech Career. It was an inspiring evening, filled with exceptional women who took to the stage to share their growth, their uncertainty, and the steps they have taken to get to where they are today.

These events support attendees navigating through all stages of their career and provide opportunities to grow their network.
In conversations with attendees and reflecting on the event there were some key themes that resonated:
- Embrace non-linear career paths – challenge tradition.
- It’s never too late to change your career path – each experience broadens your skillset and perspective.
- Keep learning, keep growing, keep looking ahead of you so you know what you need to do to move to the next stage.
- Unconscious bias exists, be aware of it but don’t wait for an invite to sit at the table, invite yourself instead.
- Perspective can truly transform the way you view your career journey.
- Build your resilience.
What was noticeable around the room were the connections being made and the collective support being held for each other. It was impressive to see a room full of women making strong connections to carry them forward on their career journey.
Thank you to the event speakers Gabriela Guiu-Sorsa, Fleur Scott and Sophie Li and their willingness to share their unique journeys.
A huge shoutout to the Her Tech Circle Team, Renece Brewster and Karen Kat. We at ACS are already looking forward to collaborating with you on future events.
The biggest cheer always goes to the ACS team who made this event such a success. Thank you, Kelly Nielson, Siobhan O’Sullivan, Holly Bretherton, Alannah Grech, Caitlin Hultgren, Angela Chen, Leanna Tucker, Luisa Grant and Cindy Chung. Your support was so appreciated.
