University of Canberra courses receive ACS accreditation
- ACS National President presented the University of Canberra with a certificate of recognition for ACS Accreditation while on campus for the ACIS 2024 Conference.
- The University of Canberra has a long-term professional partnership with ACS.
- ACS is offering a 12-month complimentary membership for UC students as part of the ACS Supporting Student Program (SSM).
On the 5th of December 2024, ACS National President Helen McHugh, ACS Canberra Branch Manager Jenalle Bushby, and ACS Director, Capability Rupert Grayston presented a Certificate of Recognition to University of Canberra, School of Information Technology and Systems for accreditation of higher education programs in recognition of commitment to quality, career enablement and compliance with ACS and international Seoul Accord graduate standards.
"I’m delighted to see the University of Canberra continuing its ACS accreditation and Professional Partnership Program (PPP). The university is an important ACT institution and has a key role in educating the next generation of technology professionals,” said ACS President Helen McHugh, MACS (Snr) CP, who is also a graduate of the faculty.
ACS is the official accrediting body for IT higher education programs in Australia. ACS accredited qualifications are benchmarked and recognised in 12 other countries through the Seoul Accord. ACS-accredited tertiary courses provide quality assured education for students aligned with specific tech job roles.
In early 2024 the School of Information Technology and System at the University of Canberra applied to the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for re accreditation of its ICT degrees. To submit the application, an accreditation lead Dr. Hamed Sarbazhosseini was appointed, and the application submitted with inputs from the Program Directors of ITS, the Head of School, the ADE, and ITS academic and professional staff.
