South Australia Monthly Wrap Up - September 24
Welcome to the September wrap-up from your SA ACS branch, highlighting the key activities and events that brought our community together and showcasing our shared achievements and memorable moments.
To Infinity and Beyond: Exploring SA’s Space Frontier
The South Australian Branch’s event held on September 18 at the stunning Australian Space Discovery Centre was a resounding success.
South Australia is home to more than 80 space-related organizations, and Adelaide is fast becoming a hub for cutting-edge space research and innovation.
Our speaker, Andreas Antoniades, captivated the audience with an insightful presentation about Saber Astronautics and their innovative work in space operations, space traffic management, and mission design. It was incredible to hear about how machine learning, algorithms, and data management are being used to tackle major challenges in the Asia-Pacific space sector.
These technologies are essential in addressing key challenges such as monitoring and controlling the increasing amount of space debris, ensuring the safe operation of satellites, and optimizing future space missions.
For those interested in exploring further, we encourage you to visit Saber Astronautics’ website or delve into opportunities with the Australian Space Agency. You can explore space-related careers here and discover study pathways here.
It was a night filled with great energy, meaningful discussions, and valuable insights into the rapidly growing space industry.
A special thank you to our speaker Andreas, and our Branch Manager Andrew, EPC member Vidhu, who, along with Jean, helped make the night an outstanding success.
We look forward to hosting more events like this that connect our members to emerging sectors like space, showcasing South Australia's vital role in shaping the future of space exploration.
