At its Accreditation Committee meeting in October 2025, the ACS accredited the ICT degrees at the University of New South Wales Canberra. Accredited Programs including, Bachelor of Computing and Cyber Security and Bachelor of Computing and Cyber Security (CDF).

ACS is the official accrediting body for IT higher education programs in Australia. ACS accredited qualifications are benchmarked and recognised in 12 other countries through the Seoul Accord. ACS-accredited tertiary courses provide quality assured education for students aligned with specific tech job roles.

An accreditation visit was conducted at the University of New South Wales Canberra on 13th August 2025. The evidence provided in the application documentation and during the visit and the discussions with staff, students and graduates was sufficient for the panel to formulate its final recommendations. The school acted on this during the school External Advisory Forum in October 2021. In addition to their current industry-related projects (DST and Malware Security company), additional guest lecturers were invited to present when possible.

Since, a Moodle Enhance Project has been introduced with the aim to provide an updated and consistent look to the current Moodle interface. UNSW Canberra started applying the new theme to all 1st year, undergraduate courses since S1 2022. The new template was then applying to 2nd year courses starting from 2023, 3rd year courses from 2024, and BCCS Honours and Engineering programs from 2025. This allows students enrolled in UNSW Canberra from 2022 to have a consistent experience through their university life.

To submit the application, an accreditation lead from the Head of School, Prof. Roland Geocke and Deputy Head of School, Dr. Erandi Hene Kankanamge was appointed, and the application submitted with inputs and all staff contributed to the accreditation document including Prof. Emma Sparks Associate Dean (Education), Prof. Jian Zhang, Dr Faycal Bouhafs (BCCS), Professor Hussein Abbass (BCCS(CDF)) and Teaching Staff members.

We greatly appreciate the support of Ernie Jauwan, ACS Accreditation Manager, our Case Managers and Accreditation Committee supported by Mandy Watson, Strategic Initiatives Executive in enabling and delivering our valued ACS Accreditation Service.
