VIC Monthly Wrap Up - March 2025
Welcome to the March 2025 wrap-up from your VIC branch, highlighting the key activities and events that brought our community together and showcasing our shared achievements and memorable moments.
The Big Meet in Melbourne
Mark Cohen and Kelsey Capaldo joined hundreds of enthusiastic students on Friday at The Big Meet Melbourne, hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, in partnership with the ACS Foundation.
This highly anticipated event provided students and graduates with the invaluable opportunity to engage with industry professionals from a wide range of sectors. Attendees were able to explore internships, graduate roles, and career pathways, while gaining valuable insights into job interview tips and strategies for securing professional memberships. The event also offered a chance to expand their networks, connecting with like-minded peers and potential employers. It was a busy, productive day filled with learning and opportunity at The Big Meet!

Mastering Resilience: Business Disaster Recovery & Crisis Psychology
Have you ever thought about how you react during a crisis? On March 11 ACS Victoria heard from Max DePina, Protiviti Australia, about the mental and emotional dynamics that influence decision-making under pressure.
Attendees learned practical strategies to optimise team responses, reduce stress, and enhance communication for clearer, more effective collaboration. The session offered actionable techniques to foster resilience and improve performance in high-stakes situations, as well as breaking down the four common responses: Fight, Flight, Fawn and Freeze.
ACS attends Melbourne Institute of Technology O-Week
Kelsey Capaldo, Acting Victorian Branch Manager, attended Melbourne Institute of Technology's Orientation Day on March 11th where she engaged with students who have recently started studying their ICT related courses.
O-Week's are renowned for having popcorn machines and therapy dogs but not this time. Students got the opportunity to pat very large wombats and hold huge black-headed pythons! Nothing like holding a snake to slither into your educational journey.

University of Melbourne O-Week
Kelsey and Kirsty from Victoria Branch were out and about on campus visiting University of Melbourne Students for their Orientation Week on Tuesday 4th of March. Eager smiles, matching uni merch and lots of questions!
The ACS team were able to connect with students to discuss what an ACS membership offers and how students can utilise it throughout their careers. Between sunshine, live music and an ice cream van - the atmosphere was pumping!

ACS Victoria attends Kaplan O-Week
Oliver Stenmark and Kelsey Capaldo attended the Orientation Day at Kaplan Business School's Melbourne campus to represent ACS on Thursday 6th March. Throughout the day, our team engaged with new students to provide information about the benefits of our SSM program.
We experienced significant interest, distributed a bunch of merchandise materials, and collected numerous student enquiries. Orientation day activities were also held at Kaplan's Sydney and Adelaide campuses. The day proved highly productive in terms of student engagement and program promotion. We are looking forward to working closely with Kaplan Business School in the future!
