Event Wrap-Up: ACS VIC EPC Presents: Bytes & Banter #1
On Thursday 22nd May, the ACS VIC Emerging Professionals Committee (EPC) hosted their first event for the year Bytes & Banter #1, at Federation Square’s Beer Deluxe, with 100 attendees enjoying a wonderful night of networking.
This event welcomed students and early-career professionals to come along, get to know their EPC, take a professional headshot for their LinkedIn profiles and form the kinds of early-career connections with their peers that will help them throughout their professional journeys.

The night kicked off with an introduction from Alannah Grech, Partner Success Manager – Communities, before a passionate speech from Nayan Mahendra Jain, chair of the Victorian EPC, who discussed the importance of networking, forming communities and connecting with your peers, as well as encouraging attendees to get involved with the EPC and help them plan future events to connect students and early career professionals with the tech community.
Following this was a night of lively conversation, with our ACS staff impressed as always be the breadth of experience and knowledge on display from these wonderful early career professionals, who together will help shape the future of our industry. Special thanks to Mark Cohen, Director – Careers and Dolly Brtan – Chair of the Victorian Branch Executive Committee for attending and offering their own experiences and wisdom to our attendees.
Congratulations to the ACS VIC EPC for a successful first event for the year, supported by Alannah Grech, Partner Success Manager – Communities, Kelsey Capaldo – Branch Manager Victoria, Kirsty Ness – Member Services & Event Senior Coordinator Victoria and Jasmine Best – Student Engagement Coordinator. Watch out for the next ACS VIC EPC event in June, a branch forum featuring a debate on important issues facing the tech industry.
