Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open for members to be part of the ACS Tasmania Emerging Professional Committee for 2026
Are you interested in giving back to the community and representing your cohort in Tasmania and wider ACS?
Australian Computer Society (ACS) is delighted to present the opportunity to establish the first Emerging Professionals Committee (EPC) for Tasmanian members.
This committee is specifically designed to support emerging professionals (students, recent graduates, and individuals in the first 1-5 years of their technology career) by fostering their active involvement in the ACS community.
The committee aims to bridge the gap between education and industry, thereby contributing to the broader goals of the ACS Tasmania Branch.

All Tasmania-based Emerging Professionals are eligible to submit an expression of interest for the nomination of the 2026 committee members.
The purpose of the ACS TAS Emerging Professionals Committee (EPC) is to be the voice and representation for students, graduates and emerging professionals within the Tasmanian tech industry. The committee's activities and responsibilities include organising events tailored to emerging professionals, provide insights and feedback to the TAS Branch on behalf of the cohort, advocating for the interests of young tech professionals to help them grow their careers and engage with the wider ACS TAS community, and help shape TAS initiatives such as EdCAT.
Why should you apply?
Because as a member of the EPC committee, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience in Committee Management environment.
- You will be mentored by the experienced Senior Executive Committee leaders and connect with like-minded individuals.
- Opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the tech community.
- Showcase your resume with practical achievements and leadership roles.
In the words of ACS Tasmania Branch Executive Committee Member Julia Lane:
‘I believe introducing an Emerging Professional Committee in Tasmania will empower the voice of Tasmania's future digital workforce; our ICT students, graduates, and early-career professionals. By creating this committee ACS members will be represented by their peers, they can be heard, contribute ideas, and influence the direction of our industry. The EPC will not only support their growth but also help to build the future of Tasmania’s ICT workforce in close partnership with industry. Their perspectives are vital to shaping a dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking digital community that will drive innovation and opportunity across the State.’
