A huge congratulations to IT student Scott May, winner of the 2025 ACS Award, presented by Peter Yeates of ACS Board of Executive Community Member and QUT Executive Dean Troy Farrel at QUT IT and Games Showcase.

Scott was recognised for his exceptional academic achievement, maintaining a 7.0 GPA and his commitment to building community among his peers.

Living and studying remotely, Scott saw the need for stronger connection between regional and on-campus students, so he created a dedicated Discord server that now brings together more than 350 IT students to share knowledge, support and friendship.

“Being a regional student, I knew how important it was to feel connected. Creating a space where we could all help each other ahs been incredibly rewarding.” Scott said.
