VIC monthly wrap up - July 2025
Welcome to the July 2025 wrap-up from your VIC branch, highlighting the key activities and events that brought our community together and showcasing our shared achievements and memorable moments.
Victorian Branch Forum dives into Healthcare and AI
Held in collaboration with DAMA Australia, the panel featured leading voices in the field—Alan Pritchard (Austin Health), Tracey Evans (Virtus Health), and A/Prof. Dr George Kong (University of Melbourne)—who shared their expertise on the real-world challenges and opportunities of implementing AI in clinical settings.
The discussion covered a range of critical topics, including data privacy and consent, ethical principles, cybersecurity risks, compliance with state-based regulations, and the importance of strong data governance. Real-world applications such as AI scribes, IVF modelling, and diagnostic support were explored as ways to improve workflow efficiency and enhance the patient experience.
The evening saw an outstanding turnout both in person and online, with a highly engaged audience who contributed thoughtful, relevant questions that enriched the conversation.
A huge thank you to our incredible speakers for generously sharing their expertise, to everyone who joined us for the session, and to the ACS Victoria and DAMA Australia teams for delivering such a seamless and impactful event.

From Workshop to Workforce
ACS Victoria was delighted to host a 3-month post-workshop breakfast for participants of the 6-Week Workshop for Migrants and Migrant Partners: Unlock Your Potential in Australia’s ICT Market, sponsored by the State Government of Victoria. The event provided an opportunity for attendees to reflect on their progress since completing the program - sharing success stories, discussing how they’ve applied their new skills, and collaboratively addressing any ongoing challenges. The workshop series, delivered by ACS Victoria in partnership with the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions, aimed to equip participants with the tools to better understand their strengths, navigate the Australian ICT job market, and enhance their professional capabilities. Thank you to those who attended, everyone who was a part of the workshop series and to the State Government of Victoria for sponsoring.
