Bringing WA’s Tech Community Together: ACS WA Tech Summit 2026 Recap
What an incredible day at the ACS WA Tech Summit 2026 – Navigating the Digital Frontier Held at Curtin University, the event brought together over 100 of Western Australia’s technology and ICT professionals for a dynamic day of insight, innovation, and collaboration.
The Summit opened with a welcome by ACS President Beau Tydd and the Hon Dr Parwinder Kaur MLC, setting the stage for a thought-provoking keynote by Rebecca Ostergaard, Chief Digital Officer at CSIRO. Her presentation, “The Messy Middle: Leading AI Transformation in Practice,” offered a refreshingly practical perspective on navigating AI adoption beyond the hype. Across the day, attendees engaged in concurrent streams exploring Data & AI, Future Skills & Ethics, and Cyber Security, each tackling the critical challenges shaping our digital future, from scaling AI innovation to building ethical, resilient technology practices. The closing lock note presented by Alex Jenkins, Director of the WA Data Science Innovation Hub (WADSIH), challenged participants to consider Western Australia’s technology landscape by 2030, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and forward thinking. A highlight of the day was the Intern Poster Showcase, with Curtin University’s Devon Clark recognised for tackling one of AI’s most pressing questions around trust and accuracy.
A sincere thank you to our speakers, our major sponsor - National Institute of Technology, and community for making the Summit such a success. The conversations have started, now the real innovation begins as these ideas are brought back into organisations across WA.
