Annie joined the ACS Canberra Branch Executive Committee to help shape the future of the ICT profession and make a meaningful contribution to the Canberra tech ecosystem. Her appointment as Branch Chair reflects both her leadership capabilities and her commitment to strengthening the ACS community.

To help ACS members get to know Annie better, we asked her a few quick questions:

1. Why did you get involved at ACS and what are you hoping to achieve as Canberra Branch Chair?

I joined ACS to help contribute to the future of the technology profession and to give back to a community that has supported my own career growth. As Branch Chair, I hope to strengthen member engagement in Canberra, foster connections between government, industry, and education sectors, and support diversity and inclusion across ICT disciplines.

2. What professional advice would you give your younger self?

Be open to unexpected opportunities. Don’t be afraid to take calculated risks, some of the best career moves come from saying yes to things that are outside your comfort zone. And always invest in your network and it’s your greatest resource.

3. What is your favourite piece of tech or gadget?

My smartwatch. It helps me stay connected and organised, and reminds me to take a break when I need one!
